God’s love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and kindness are all written on every page of the Bible. Through it, we get a glimpse of the Father’s love, an eternal, all-encompassing love that is not dependent on us but is, instead, freely given. Through Scripture, we can be part of the most remarkable love story ever told, a story of redemption, sacrifice, and newness that culminated in the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Read MoreAll through Scripture, we see examples of how God does great things through His followers. Joshua 6 is a perfect example of this. The Fall of Jericho included listening to God and allowing Him to work in a mighty and powerful way.
Read MoreWhen we trust God with our lives, we can see how He, through His grace and promise of salvation, can take us from things in life that keep us from thriving and place us in a garden of growth and beauty.
Read MoreThere is an abundance of self-help resources because we live in a fallen world. Yet, as believers, we can know and rely on God for help and share his Word with others who are hurting.
Read MoreWhen dating, we have two choices. We can either lose ourselves by compromising who we are and what God has made us be or lose ourselves by allowing God to shape us in his image.
Read MoreWhen we inevitably experience trials and pains in our lives, we may have wounds that others can not see. As time passes on, those experiences can lead to scars. When we let God heal and comfort us, those scars become beautiful reminders of God's protection and love.
Read MoreThere are many things in life we can exalt. After all, to exalt means to elevate or glorify. We may choose to exalt the opinions of others, our self-worth, consequences, our possessions or wealth, or even our blessings. Yet, only God deserves to be glorified, not because of what he gives us, but because of who he is, the only God whose very name deserves our adoration!
Read MoreFor years, I was happy being single. Naturally, during my years as a single Christian woman, I had crushes and possibilities, but inwardly, I thought that I was probably one of those Christians meant to be single my whole life. Instead of viewing this as a loss, I would instead get excited to think about all the people I could meet and help and all the trips I could take!
Read MoreYet, the relief God promises is real, an oasis of eternity, wisdom, respite, bounty, and growth. He is also with us every labored step of the way, unlike Satan, who will leave us alone in our pain, doubts, and confusion. We may perceive our experiences as a desert, but with and through Christ, we will arrive at a place of comfort, peace, and growth.
Read MoreI don’t like waiting, there, I’ve said it. I also think that most of the population is probably like me. I am about to age myself and say that waiting was part of my everyday life for the first 20 years. My siblings and I would have to take turns talking on the one phone line we had in the house. I would mail letters to friends back when the USPS wasn’t called snail mail because it was the only way to mail things. Things could not be ordered online because there were no e-commerce sites. Every 10 minutes into a TV program or movie, there was ad time, and I would have to wait it out to finish watching what I wanted.
Read MoreI am being very vulnerable in this post, hoping that it may help you or others who feel weighed down and held captive by emotions call out to God with all that you are, hope, and need. For a quick background about me, I have been diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety since I was 16. My struggles with mental health have affected my life in so many ways, some bad, like not being able to finish college, and some good, like learning to rely on others for prayer, help, and encouragement.
Read MoreI was saved on Halloween when I was five years old. Yes, you read that right. Although my family faithfully went to church, it took a salvation tract (a pamphlet, religious in nature, intended to share scripture and salvation with others) in my Halloween loot for me to make the decision to allow God into my heart. It was a cartoon called “The Fool,” about how only a fool won´t prepare for eternity.
Read MoreI recently wrote an article entitled “The Lie of Loneliness” as part of a series focused on mental health. The article was about how our mental health is affected when we believe we are alone. Satan will tell us that no one understands what we are going through. He will work to isolate us from our family and friends so we feel helpless and misunderstood.

Read MoreIn 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, we find valuable verses that offer believers insight into the love of God while also giving us instructions and applications for how to show love to others. While most of this scripture tells us what love is, verse 5 tells us what love is not and does not do. The last part of this verse says that “love does not delight in evil.” (NIV)
Read MorePeople like to say that they will “forgive but not forget”, as though forgiving and forgetting are mutually exclusive. This was the attitude of the people of the church of Corinth. Paul wrote to the Corinthian church because they chose to sue each other rather than resolve their differences.
Read MoreWhen I found out that Tirzah was using their platform to focus on mental health, God immediately laid on my heart to write about my experiences with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Through a four-part series, we will break down how loneliness, fear, regret, and worry all lead to mental health struggles and how under it all, believing ourselves to be unlovable and unworthy only adds to the feelings of hopelessness we can all feel.

When you walk in it and hear the crunching sound of your shoes, you stop in your tracks because you feel like you are a part of something that deserves your awe and stillness. It is something that stays with you, the tranquility and calm of it all.
